Our individual journeys of learning, unlearning, and relearning have been unique. Historically, our worldviews, processes, and practices have been predominantly Eurocentric, often lacking recognition of Indigenous history and the contemporary resilience of Indigenous peoples.
Fortunately, through our engagements with Elders and visits to various First Nations communities, we have learned that Indigenization, Reconciliation, and Decolonization extend far beyond simply checking boxes, making land acknowledgments, or drafting policies. These efforts are part of a deeper, more meaningful commitment to understanding and integrating Indigenous perspectives.
